Expointer
Nine days of livestock judging and sales at Esteio near Porto Alegre, the leading farm show of southern Brazil.
Cattle at Expointer
Expointer is held each year at the Assis Brasil showground at Esteio, close to Porto Alegre in Rio Grande do Sul, at the end of August and start of September. It is one of the largest open-air livestock fairs in Latin America, with judging of beef and dairy cattle, sheep and the Crioulo horse of the gaúchos, auctions of breeding stock, and a large machinery and family farming hall. Rio Grande do Sul has a temperate climate unlike most of Brazil, and its cattle are mostly British and European breeds and their crosses with zebu. The 2027 edition is the fiftieth.
The breeds
Also part of it, and being written: Braford (The Hereford and Brahman cross bred for the south.), Aberdeen Angus (A leading beef breed of Rio Grande do Sul.).
